Tadashi Shoji S/S 2018 – Review
INSPIRED BY: Bohemian artists cruising along the Pacific Highway from Malibu to Los Angeles in pursuit of young Hollywood and the glamorous lives within it. Think Chloë Grace Moretz draped poolside with a non-fat piña colada wearing a pair of oversized blackout Chanel shades at the Chateau Marmont.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Carey Mulligan rocking up to the back lot of Paramount Studios to shoot the Vanity Fair Hollywood issue while on a hiatus from filming The Great Gatsby 2.
WEAR IT TO:Â A Soho House Los Angeles off-site VIP photographic exhibition event at The Ivy.
FIRST READ: Ruffled floral-print chiffon dresses, striped off-the-shoulder babydoll gowns, and body-con dresses with ruched sleeves were as red carpet-ready as they were for posing for the paparazzi downtown, while a deep-V nude dress with beading applique and a celestial navy gown with tulle overlay in a space odyssey print gave off a bohemian, ballerina vibe. Â
BEST LOOK: A strappy green lace mini dress with floral embroidery and pleated panels, worn with taupe mules and simple drop earrings.Â
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Tie-top sundresses and tassel fringe accents added a playful youthful vibe to the ladylike offering. while natural hair and an aqua eye elevated the collection to one suited for a week cruising the beaches of Capri.Â
SPOTTED IN THE FROW: Chloe Bennet, Niki Taylor, Danielle Campbell, Laurie Hernandez, Camren Bicondova, and Lori Harvey, Tao Hong, India de Beaufort, Chrissie Fit,Â
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “Did you hear the news today that Graydon Carter has resigned from Vanity Fair after 25 years?”
COLOR WHEEL:Â Jade, Emerald, canary yellow, rose quartz, indigo red, white, fuchsia, navy, blush, magenta, red, black.Â
