Creatures of Comfort F/W 2018 – Review
INSPIRED BY:Â An ode to the 70’s disco scene, designer Jade Lai paid homage to the strength of the female spirit in her latest collection, that made reference to the momentum of the current #metoo movement.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Sienna Miller with her hair in milk-maid braids on the set of a Vogue photoshoot in the English countryside as part of a rebrand after a brief rocky rekindling with Jude Law.
WEAR IT TO:Â An organic cooking class at Soho Farmhouse before having your aura cleansed at the property’s day spa by reiki guru.
FIRST READ: A series of polished, layered looks straddling the line between looks suited to a London weekender or a boardroom battle on Wall Street. Smart tailoring elevated the collection from agriculture-worker status to a wardrobe better suited for boarding the deck of a private yacht in the French Riviera.
BEST LOOK:Â AÂ polka dot navy silk dress, worn with an oversized red cardigan and a brown coat, styled over white pants and boots.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Woolen beanies and mittens a lived-in feel to the otherwise put-together looks, while printed silk scarves amplified the show’s feminine vibe.
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “I could see myself in that black polka-dot trench over mimosas at the Waverly Inn.”
COLOR WHEEL:Â Peach, lemon, beige, navy, lilac, lime, orange, grey.
