INSPIRED BY: Peru and the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu and the Morochucos – the cowboys of the plains of the Peruvian Andes. Think Alexandro Jodorowsky’s Mexican surrealist fantasy film, The Holy Mountain, where a powerful alchemist leads a Christ-like character and seven materialistic folks on a quest to achieve enlightenment.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Think Brokeback Mountain with a hint of the Salem witch trials thrown to create some gritty undercurrents.
WEAR IT TO: Your upcoming glamping excursion to Jordan’s Wadi Rum region, where you’ll bask under the night skies of the Arabian desert in your luxury Bedouin camp against the gentle flames of traditional lamps of your private desert retreat.
FIRST READ: Staying true to their signature urban military aesthetic, sister-and-brother team Nicholas and Christopher Kunz delivered a range of nomadic warrior looks with a focus on sustainability. The offering’s canyon-inspired color palette was featured in a range of vegetable-dyed leathers, woven fabrics and alpaca wool that paid homage to the pair’s commitment to organic sourcing, while the photoshoot’s desert backdrop added a dose of rustic minimalism to the lineup.
