Pamella Roland F/W 2018 – Review
INSPIRED BY: The timeless elegance and decorum of the Hollywood elite and a boat tour taken by designer Pamella Roland’s on a recent trip to Prague, and its architecture from the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque eras.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Catherine Zeta-Jones as nightclub sensation Velma belting out a rendition of All That Jazz in Chicago.Â
WEAR IT TO: A night of anonymous debauchery, magic and illusion under the stars at the Grand Masked Ball at the Salle des Etoiles in Monte-Carlo on the French Riviera.
FIRST READ: Roland delivered a solid suite of her signature party gowns, which featured an array of elegant accents, such as ombre sequins, floral embroidery and ostrich ruffles. Think Get Out’s Betty Gabriel at the 2018 Vanity Fair Oscar’s party.
BEST LOOK: A long sleeve mauve, purple and pink sheer body-con dress with crystal detailing and a built-in cape with an ostrich feather trim – think Big Bird at an intergalactic prom.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS:Â Tulle gowns, sheer embroidered body-con dresses featuring crystal embroidery and mini dresses with strategic splices combined to create a lineup of red carpet-ready looks. A standout out included a strapless indigo dress cinched at the waist with layers of silk exploding from the base.
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE:Â “This show always makes me wish I could relive my prom with a better up-do and date.”
COLOR WHEEL:Â Navy, mauve, pink, cobalt, indigo, lilac, black, cream, ivory, peach, rust.
