Linder NYFWM S/S19 – Review

INSPIRED BY: A canine drawing in Creative Director Kirk Millar’s great-great grandmother’s scrapbook, and the sense of loyal companionship and support dogs offer to humans. The designer also gave nod to the Pride movement and the desire for connection between men.
POP-CULTURE NOD: A sequel to coming-of-age cult classic Dazed & Confused, slated to be released after John Mayer’s set at the Bourbon & Beyond festival in Louisville, Kentucky.
WEAR IT TO: Explore the corn maze at Barnyard Kingdom off Donnerville Road in Lancaster’s Amish Country, before dusting off and heading to an outdoor wedding at the nearby Cork Factory Hotel.
FIRST READ: 70’s style varsity sweat shirts, Aztec-inspired tribal prints on denim jackets and matching pants, high-waisted button-up bell bottoms and muscle tees combined to create a vintage-looking lineup with a Woodstock-in-summer twist. Think “Liberal Arts student on a gap year to pursue plans to take their folk band on tour in Europe.”
BEST LOOK: A saffron-colored jacket with rose-gold button detail, worn with matching pants and cream, slip-on shoes.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Fitted silhouettes and contrasting patchwork on jackets and shirts, the words “Boyfriend” and “Best Friend” scrawled in handwriting on tees, horse and bird graphics printed on sweaters with flowers on the sleeves.
