Sinesia Karol NYFWM S/S19 – Review
INSPIRED BY: The luscious vegetation and tropical atmosphere of the Amazon rainforest served as key behind the designer’s “Botanical Garden” collection, crafted by Margaret Mee – an artist who resided in Brasil for thirty years amid her love for Rio de Janeiro and its stunning beaches.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Miley Cyrus offloading ten pieces of Luis Vuitton bespoke luggage at the Copacabana Palace Hotel before heading to the sixth floor to select her pick of the location’s most luxurious suites and then hitting the VIP section of the pool downstairs.
WEAR IT TO: A celebrity stalker excursion at the Philipe Starck-designed Fasano Rio hotel in the quirky-chic location in front of Ipanema Beach, before heading to the Baretto Londra Italian-style bar to hide behind your Tiffany & Co. oversized shades in search of Jennifer Lopez and her latest beau.
FIRST READ: Beachy coverups – think loose shorts, crop tops and floaty skirts in chiffon, silk and mousseline – in addition to the brand’s signature plunging one pieces in floral prints and color-blocked monochrome tones.
BEST LOOK: A navy, green and white striped silk strappy floor-length dress with floral paneling, teamed with beige slides and stacked chunky bracelets.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Fringed and laser-cut detailing on high-waisted bikinis and one pieces, delicate embroidery, macramé and cheeky cutouts, cat-eye glasses, Cult Gaia bags and statement gold earrings.
SPOTTED IN THE FROW: Ashley and Lauren Wirkus, Barbie Blank, Ludi Delfino.
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “Where are we going for a cocktail after this? I haven’t had a drink in 20 minutes and I’m parched.”
COLOR WHEEL: Sage, cream, yellow, brown, white, navy, black, peach, tangerine, khaki, tan, pink.
