INSPIRED BY: Jeremy Scott’s younger self – ever the unabashedly bold and boundary-pushing club kid.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Keisha’s Weird & Wonderful Rainbow Ride music festival cruise from Tampa to Nassau in October, where confirmed activities include pool deck dance parties and a Lip Sync for Your Life contest, hosted by Keisha (body glitter not included).
WEAR IT TO: A midsummer Caribbean Glow Rave at the Tropical Reflections Ballroom in Brooklyn with an 90’s-themed set list.
FIRST READ: Playing to the nostalgic theme of the show were polaroid prints of the designer featured throughout the collection on oversized hoodies, tanks and body-con dresses, while neon gingham prints and camouflage added a grungey vibe to the mix. Cotton candy-colored leather jackets stayed true to Scott’s kitschy aesthetic, while NBA logo prints on tops, sweats and mesh separates served as a throwback to New York in the 90’s – think the sort of looks you’d don on the backup dancers of a remake of the Beastie Boys’ Intergalactic filmed on Orchard Street in the Lower East Side.
BEST LOOK: An electric blue layered top in tulle and PVC overlay, worn under a diamante-encrusted leather jacket peppered with vintage NBA logos and styled with a matching skirt and crystal-studded black stacked boots.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Rainbow Brite-inspired knee-high moon boots, which walked in line with the show’s futuristic vibe, while politically-driven patches of words such as “Riot,” “Peace,” and “Shock” added a resistance element to the collection.
