Cinq a Sept NYFW F/W19 – Review
INSPIRED BY: North Africa, and the idea of wandering aimlessly through the magical, labyrinthine alleys of Marrakesh’s ancient medina. Think the sort of wardrobe you’d find on the Instagram of a professional traveler.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Rebel Wilson promoting Isn’t it Romantic on The Late Late Show with James Cordon, before grabbing post-show winter cocktail at Patent Pending.
WEAR IT TO: Search for rare vintage wares at Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar while on gardening leave before starting your new gig as senior accessories buyer at Valentino.
FIRST READ: Designer Jane Siskin delivered a mix of laid-back daytime getups and cozy-yet-glam evening looks in her latest eclectic lineup. From cozy fur coats in jewel tones, to Studio 54-inspired sequin jumpsuits and tailored blazers with silk draping – the collection stayed true to Siskin’s knack for merging chilled bohemian style with a punk rock aesthetic.
BEST LOOK: A pink sequined turtleneck, paired with a blush silk midi skirt, matching suede mules, and styled with a wool-knit scarf.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Clashing materials and an explosion of rich colors. Siskin made the use of feathers, sequins, furry wool, silk and leather in a single look seem effortless, much like her design philosophy of taking the styling effort out of the equation and letting the clothes speak for themselves.
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “How intoxicating is the incense in here?”
COLOR WHEEL: Red, black, white, chartreuse, cobalt, navy, aqua, green, powder blue, blush, pink, gray, lavender.
