TOP INSTA LOOK: Dainty broaches solidified the air hostess vibe, with the collection playing out like the application for the new Qantas uniforms, both fresh and contemporary and an evocative symbol of the irrepressible Australian spirit of travel.

BEHIND THE SCENES:  Two cornrows kept hair away from the face, letting the breezy clothes tell the story to the backdrop of iconic Australian rock songs.

OFF PROBATION: A layered panel cream crop top, worn with a floor-length floaty skirt with asymmetrical layers in seafoam green and navy.

GOOD BEHAVIOUR BOND: A one shoulder black dress with flared sleeves and white piping, split down the center with two airport runway white strips.

INSPIRED BY: The friendly folks of the sky at Qantas, who have the pleasure of dealing with drunken Australian tourists on a daily basis, from the discomfort of their orthopedic flats.

POP CULTURE-NOD: Think Margot Robbie as Laura in Pan Am, the stewardess team’s resident celebrity, a quiet and reluctant pin-up who’s been awarded the honor of gracing Time’s magazine cover. A series of dresses and looks in black channel the movie’s subplot – Robbie’s sister secretly working undercover for the United States government, creating intrigue, scandal and toying with tragedy. No security checks needed here.

WEAR IT TO: The next time you turn hard left when boarding a return flight from Perth to Dubai, following which – well rested, of course – you continue your journey onto New York. Dazzle the stewards on the first leg and chance your style making its way up the gossip food chain to the folks in corporate, ever keen for a fresh take on Qantas’ personality.

COLOR WHEEL: Black, seafoam green, navy, white and tribal prints.

BEATS: Divinyls’ “I Touch Myself”, Midnight Oil’s “Earth is Burning”.

THE DOCKET: A hybrid of tribal influences and Australian heritage appeared to be the playbook during Yuxin’s latest offering, which evolved like the sort of gear you might wear on ambitions of joining the infamous mile-high club (think more Christina Ricci as Maggie in Pan Am and less Britney Spears in ‘Toxic’ or Snakes on a Plane). Yuxin’s wearable, simplistic pieces were perhaps the opposite of the provocative costume that works better for slutty Halloween get-ups than actual airline service, comfortable flats included.
