INSPIRED BY: Capri’s Villa Malaparte – infamously known as the sunbathing venue of choice for Brigitte Bardot – and the notion of the preppy elite grabbing a round of tennis on the groups of the architectural masterpiece atop of a dangerous cliff some 32 meters above the sea on the eastern side of the island on Punta Massullo. Influenced by the designer’s recent jaunt to Brazil’s Bahia coast, the show’s urban side echoed villa’s past as set of Jean-Luc Goddard’s Contempt, the movie home of arrogant film producer and playboy Jeremy Prokosch who seduces his screenwriter’s wife, bombshell Bardot.
POP CULTURE-NOD: Former Glee star Lea Michelle happily pocketing a cool $20K to sport the hipster label’s currently collection while rocking out to OutKast, Muse and Arcade Fire next to gal pal Vanessa Hudgens and her $15K McDonald’s deal at Coachella, before grabbing a quick game of doubles on the Adidas-sponsored celebrity hangout tennis court, smack bang in an Instagram-friendly hashtag zone.
