TOP INSTA LOOK: Fall-ready high-waisted leather cropped pants featuring equestrian-inspired grommets fastened by laces at the bottom, perfect for easing you into the cooler months.

BEHIND THE SCENES: Keeping in check with the current ‘90s throwback trend were inverted ponytails and barely-there makeup, complementing the collection’s ladylike vibe.

OFF PROBATION: A chartreuse layered knee-length dress with asymmetrical ruffles, styled with strappy black gladiator flats and a business-style mini briefcase.

GOOD BEHAVIOUR BOND: A classic ‘New York in the Summer’ uniform black dress with a plunging neckline and ruched waist, styled with grey strappy heels, sure to distract your intimidating male editor when kindly asking for the second extension on your political feature for fall.

INSPIRED BY: The iconic New York executive stylish power trooper intent as looking as polished as possible for a harrowing board meeting and as feminine as a recently-divorced Stepford wife over a glass of sauvignon blanc at The Bowery Hotel downtown.

POP CULTURE-NOD: Vanessa Hudgens while taking a break from the national festival circuit en route from the set of her latest flick to meet longtime boyfriend Austin Butler for cocktails at Gramercy Park Hotel’s Rose Bar. Think breezy bohemian meets effortless New York chic.

WEAR IT TO: Your after-work Tinder date with someone you suspect might actually be from your office followed by a quick recap of the last chapter of Donna Tartt’s The Secret History hidden behind a copy of the latest issue of Vogue as you Uber downtown to your monthly book club meeting at Graydon Carter’s The Waverly Inn.

OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “I was bought out of my rent-stabilized apartment in New York, which gave me a reason to move to Tahiti which was when I realized that there are all these people living there and surviving.”

SPOTTED: Jessica Lowndes, Michelle Williams, Brad Goreski, Louise Roe, Katie Cassidy, Coco Rocha, Stacee Michelle, Alyssa Greene.

COLOR WHEEL: Muted florals, taupe, black-and-white gingham, chartreuse, olive, bronze, fawn.

THE DOCKET: While the juxtaposition of masculine and feminine is key to Marissa Webb’s playbook, for her lastest collection, the designer leaned more towards the latter, serving up a range of interchangeable pieces for the New York woman requiring a wardrobe that facilitates a seamless transition from day to night, with the ability to upgrade a look via a dose of serious bling.
