BEHIND THE SCENES: Clemens closed the show with a choreographed clapping routine, with clappers following off composed materials on music sheet stands.
OFF PROBATION: An Orange is the New Black-inspired tangerine hooded trench coat, styled with a blue-and-white striped polo and logoed lime pants.
GOOD BEHAVIOUR BOND: A blue shirtless hooded vest, worn open over a lime logoed shirt and teamed with matching blue dress shorts and black unisex flats.
INSPIRED BY: The desire to produce casual, unisex separates via a collection that’s sure to be easily updatable from season-to-season, akin to preppy fashion house stalwart Polo Ralph Lauren. Always in focus is the passion for creating modern basics with a sport edge.
POP CULTURE-NOD: Think the sort of getup Jaden Smith might don when accompanying girlfriend Sarah Snyder to an MTV VMA after party at Up & Down nightclub in New York City.
WEAR IT TO: The rowdy Telfar after party, set to take place over free French fries and vodka on-tap at fast food restaurant White Castle (although you’re most likely to lose your shirt at some point in the evening). Likely to be in attendance is White Castle Vice President, Jamie Richardson, dressed in a blue blazer and hamburger tie greeting guests at the door.
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “Which ones are the Olympians?” – in reference to Olympians Tori Bowie and Miles Chamley-Watson walking in the show, which took place in a gymnasium-style setting amid the sportswear theme.
COLOR WHEEL: Blue, lime green, orange, grey, white and black, otherwise defined by the designer as “Old Navy” colors.
THE DOCKET: Designer Telfar Clemens delivered a range of androgynous looks – of which he’s keen to point out, cannot be defined as sport or streetwear – as suited for an afternoon at the hoops to a day at the polo. Ranging from swimwear to hoodies to smart shirts and pants combos, Telfar’s latest collection is set to have your wardrobe completely stocked for spring.
