Custo Barcelona S/S 2018 – Review
INSPIRED BY:Â The notion of futuristic design using a mashup of tech-influenced and traditional materials. Think street-style flair with a bucket of hip-hop cool thrown in for measure.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Spanish actress and model Esther Cañadas fleeing to Mexico with her $300,000 engagement ring from ex-fiance, NYC hotel tycoon Vikram Chatwalk, in tow.
WEAR IT TO: Cocktails at a day party while tending to your inner movie star via a pair of oversized shades at the Purobeach Club Palma in Palma de Mallorca.
FIRST READ: Maxi coats, bomber jackets asymmetrical pleated dresses and swimwear in translucent organzas, bright metallics and sequins, gave the show an international jetsetter vibe, while jogging pants in exotic fabrics, printed sweaters and oversized tees added a relaxed athleisure feel.
BEST LOOK:Â An asymmetrical mini dress with geometric cutouts in a floral and rainbow print with sequin detailing, worn under a rose-gold metallic trench and styled with tribal-inspired slides and a marble-effect trucker cap.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Clashing prints and sheer paneling combined to deliver  a collection fit for the club kid that spends their days cruising the Venice Beach Boardwalk. Bright printed flats- a modern update on the fanny pack, and baseball caps in a myriad of fabrics rounded out the suite of androgynous looks.
SPOTTED IN THE FROW: Bryan Bautista, Sully Guzman, Karen Koeningsberg, Pepi Sonuga.
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE:“I can’t believe they show almost 80 different looks, it’s incredible. It makes the wait totally worth the main event.”
