Adam Lippes NYFW F/W19 – Review
INSPIRED BY: Milan-based interior design firm Studio Peregalli and its knack for creating maximalist, magical and romantic spaces for its clients. The subtle homage was amplified by the exquisite surrounds of Lippes’ periodic Brooklyn apartment.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Emma Watson grabbing afternoon tea with a former Brown University colleague at the Plaza Hotel’s Palm Court.
WEAR IT TO: Dance the night away at a spring wedding at Soho Farmhouse in the U.K.’s Cotswolds.
FIRST READ: An eclectic mix of frilly party frocks and billowy silk statement gowns, offset by relaxed-fit jumpsuits and tailored shorts and trousers.
BEST LOOK: A black silk capelet with bow detail, worn over a sheer lace top and a layered skirt in a polka-dot glitter print.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Metallic leather boots with button accents added edge to drop-waist silk dresses, while a mink collar on a double-breasted winter coat added a ladylike element to the collection’s daywear looks.
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “I would totally do Brooklyn if I owned a pad like this – it’s incredible. And how high are the ceilings?!”
COLOR WHEEL: Marigold, maroon, white, rose gold, black, silver, red, slate gray, cobalt.
