TOP INSTA LOOK: Shirt dresses and shifts that paid homage to the geometrically-inspired works of artist Carmen Herrara.

BEHIND THE SCENES: For his debut New York showcase, designer Albert Kriemler selected the digs of a vacated floor of midtown’s Level House.

OFF PROBATION: An ivory linen shorts suit featuring an oversized blazer with a deep green lapel, styled with an ivory bag and stacked open-toe heels.

GOOD BEHAVIOUR BOND: A sleeveless red shift dress with black panels and a fly-away strip trailing from the shoulder.

INSPIRED BY: New York artist Carmen Herrera’s 1959 green-and-white geometric painting “Blanco y Verde”, which formed part of a collection in which the painter played with lines and hard-edged, radiantly-covered canvases to muddle the relationship between color and form.

POP CULTURE-NOD: Front-row regular Olivia Palermo in a cosy knit, star print camel parker and flared denim jeans, styled with tousled locks and a plum lip to create a festival vibe at Akris’ F/W17 show in Paris.

WEAR IT TO: Your first interview on the set of Jimmy Fallon following a last-minute meeting with your newly-appointed celebrity stylist with the memo of creating an undone polished look to promote your debut horror flick and share anecdotes of your accidental stardom.

OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “Do you know why Kriemler decided to show in New York over Paris this season?”

SPOTTED: Stefano Tonchi, Chriselle Lim, Shea Marie, Caroline Vreeland, Nancy C. Rogers, Camila Coelho, Steven Kolb, Linda Fargo, Ma Su,

COLOR WHEEL: Cobalt blue, moss green, red, black, white, pink, taupe, dark brown.

THE DOCKET: Through the combination of simplistic styling, clean lines and voluminous silhouettes, Akris’ latest lineup took viewers on a jungle safari through the urban streets of New York City, delivering a series of looks for the modern-day Lara Croft proficient in the art of fusing high and low fashion via the addition of a pair of designer kicks and bold statement accessories.
