Alice + Olivia F/W 2018 – Review
INSPIRED BY: University and the world of academia, designer Stacey Bendet paid homage to notable feminists in history and the women’s movement.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Agyness Deyn and her ex Strokes guitarist beau Albert Hammond Jr walking their puppies after a late lunch at The Bowery Hotel’s Gemma restaurant.
WEAR IT TO: Panning for gold in the El Dorado Canyon area, before heading west for the bright lights of Vegas. Or a walking tour of Andy Warhol’s favorite watering holes in New York City.
FIRST READ: A western denim shirt with a pussycat bow, worn with a python-print midi skirt gave off a modern, ladylike vibe, while a dramatic fur throw, worn with a sequin pencil skirt, added a dose of the brand’s trademark spunk to the eclectic mix.
BEST LOOK: A leopard-print trench, worn over a black hoodie and rainbow-style sequinned midi skirt, style with Dorothy-esque sparkly red boots.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Pants in cow-hide print, python coats, and leopard-print jackets played to the show’s western vibe, while silk ball skirts and caplets in floral print added a dose of femininity to the mix.
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “I love Bendet’s presentation style – it’s always such a treat exploring her spaces.”
COLOR WHEEL: Green, aqua, yellow, orange, blue, lilac, emerald, cerulean, red, fuchsia, slate, white.
