BCBG Max Azria put away its paint box this season and delivered a neutral color palette suite of a breezy, haute hippy looks fit for cooling down in style next summer.
Inspired by the bohemian socialite armed with her hedge fund second husband’s platinum American Express, the offering featured an array of plunging silk wrap dresses in pastel pink, crisp white and soft, floral prints, while structured cropped jackets and tie-front midi skirts gave the show a more classic and polished feel.
Designer Lubov Azria cited artisanal rugs faded by an overdying process as the driving influence behind the muted patterns and washed-out hues gracing the range of maxi dresses teamed with obi belts to add a dose of structure to the mix.
A standout look was a white apron-back jumpsuit and an one-shouldered baby blue floor-length gown with a thigh-high split, teamed with a pastel pink obi belt.
An ethereal floaty blue sheer silk dress with a floral pattern in yellow, red and dark blue was also a crowd pleaser – perfect for asking for redemption at Sunday Mass when the next American Express statement is due.
Length was key in the designer’s set of lightweight looks, with an array of sheer silk blouses and scarf-print shorter dresses adding a touch of informality to the collection.
Laidback minimalism and effortless elegance were key in BCBG Max Azria’s offering for spring, with models seeming to float down the runway in an array of easy-to-wear creations.
If you find yourself in a shopping spree-related credit card dilemma with your latest husband, snap up on of the designer’s white pieces to create the illusion of purity.
