Boss NYFW S/S19 – Review
INSPIRED BY: California and it’s relaxed lifestyle, Boss chief brand officer Ingo Wilts sought to create a softer, low-maintenance collection with a wanderlust slant – the sort of getup you could stuff in a carryon and then wear to a business meeting on the West coast without any fuss.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Joseph Gordon Levitt moderating a panel discussion after a special screening of The Most Unknown at the Ace Hotel Downtown L.A.
WEAR IT TO: A job interview with Facebook’s Head of Customer Experience at the company’s candy-fueled daydream in Menlo Park.
FIRST READ: Double-breasted jackets worn open over silk camisoles, suede trenches, and nylone floaty coats played to the show’s travel-friendly vibe, while drawstring leather pants and paperbag skirts marked a welcomed departure from the brands classic button-up suiting.
BEST LOOK: A marigold blazer with expended sleeves, worn over a long sheer top and paired with matching cigarette trousers and styled with lace-up flats.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Grecian sandals, worn throughout, hats with wind-proof drawstring detail, oversized shopper bags, sporty bombers and duffel bags.
SPOTTED IN THE FROW: Jamie Dornan, Tim Hardaway Jr., Serge Ibaka, Victor Cruz, Victor Oladipo, Austin Mahone, Dylan Sprouse, Barbara Palvin, Andrew Cooper, Toni Garrn, Daniel Bruhl, Emma Roberts, Henry Golding, Liv Lo, Christian Combs, Karrueche Tran.
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “This collection has officially converted me to a big Boss fan.”
COLOR WHEEL: Taupe, salmon, burgundy, white, rust, charcoal, navy, orange, black, sunshine yellow.
