Brock Collection F/W 2018 – Review
INSPIRED BY: 1950’s romantic comedy Sabrina, starring Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart about a playboy that becomes interested in the daughter of his family’s chauffeur.
POP-CULTURE NOD:Â Snow White-meets-Little Red Riding Hood on an acid trip after tumbling down the rabbit’s hole into an enchanted garden party. Think the future Chanel devotee finding her sartorial footprint.
WEAR IT TO: Cocktails at Fig & Olive with Olivia Palermo after hosting a style segment on Vogue.com.
FIRST READ: Crushed velvet, ruffles, feminine ruching and soft florals combined to deliver a show heavy on romance and gowns catered to an evening on the town and the walk-of-shame the morning after. Silk slips, tiered skirts and sheer lace floor-length frocks channeled the brand’s raw and edgy vibe.
BEST LOOK:Â A cream lace tiered dress with a fitted bodice, styled with a matching caplet – think afternoon wedding party at the Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Floral broaches and ribbon detailing added a dose of Coco Chanel polish, which played to the show’s ladylike feel.
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “Seeing Anna Wintour makes me totally want to indulge in A Devil Wears Prada binge once fashion week is over.”
COLOR WHEEL:Â Rose, red, black, ivory, lemon, green, indigo, powder blue, navy, mustard.
