Camilla and Marc NYFW F/W19 – Review
INSPIRED BY:Â The mathematical concept of the golden ratio: where the ratio of two quantities is the same as the ratio of their sum to the larger of the two. More simply put, design duo Camilla Freeman-Topper and Marc Freeman paid homage to the Leonardo da Vinci-illustrated book by Luca Pacioli, the Divine Proportion.
POP-CULTURE NOD:Â Australian model Jess Hart visiting Down Under for Victoria Derby Day, the horse-racing Saturday before the infamous Melbourne Cup.
WEAR IT TO:Â A meeting with your book agent by the fire in the Rose Bar at the Gramercy Park Hotel.
FIRST READ: Classic Camilla and Marc suiting via oversized blazers, trench coats and a plaid pantsuit. A knit dress and coat with wrist-tie detailing added to the collection’s cozy vibe, while a one-shoulder Lurex mini dress and a strapless maxi gown catered to one’s cocktail hour needs.
BEST LOOK:Â A chartreuse and mustard midi dress in a geometric swirl print, featuring balloon sleeves and a trailing necktie, styled with nude leather slippers.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS:Â Complimentary separates with an acute focus on expert tailoring, oversized leather belts and a focus on power dressing for the corporate warrior.
COLOR WHEEL:Â Mustard, black, silver, crimson, cream, khaki, slate, gunmetal, red, brown.
