Camilla Resort 2019 – Review

INSPIRED BY: Springtime in Japan and the country’s Sakura Matsuri, or cherry blossom festival and it’s candy-pink hues. The notion of a fluorescent tropical universe – think saturated neon lights projected onto deep forest greenery alongside Art-Deco pool lounges doused in emerald hues and embellished with gold accents.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Kate Hudson and boyfriend Danny Fujikawa, joined by Goldie, Kurt, and son Oliver, soaking up the Mediterranean sun while on a luxury boat ride in Greece.
WEAR IT TO: Recovery drinks at the Beach Hotel Byron Bay after rubbing shoulders with the celebrity elite at a top-secret wedding at The Orchard Estate, dreaming of the prior day’s panoramic views of the hinterland, because phones were quarantined at the door.
FIRST READ: The Bondi-born, bohemian designer paid homage to Japanese dressing, namely via kimonos in a kaleidoscope of floral prints and obi sashes, cinched at the waist over one-shouldered togas and silk wraps.
BEST LOOK: An off-the-shoulder silk dress with a knee-length ruffled hemline, featuring a traditional Japanese folding fan print and topped with a blush faux-mink fur stole.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Handcrafted floral arrangements worn as oversized broaches, fashioned from wool, metallic leather and floristry wire, velvet smoking slippers and pajama-style dressing, stacked wedges and boxing-style robes and plenty of face glitter to boot.
