INSPIRED BY: The idea of futurism through the eyes of the jet-setting high-society crowd. Think intergalactic travel to a party in outer space.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Sandra Bullock as Dr. Ryan Stone celebrating her return to earth after being stranded in the stratosphere in Gravity.
WEAR IT TO: Anna Wintour’s kitschy Jetsons-themed annual Met Gala, followed by a raging after-party atop the Intrepid.
FIRST READ: Siriano stayed true to his knack for delivering fun and flirty red carpet-ready cocktail frocks in bold hues. Think spades of strapless mini dresses with voluminous trains, black bodycon dresses with sequin embellishments, and silver jackets and dresses with faux fur and feather accents.
BEST LOOK: A strapless blue gown with a sweetheart neckline and front ruffles and a full skirt, teamed with silver heels. Also key was a plunging navy gown with a built-in shawl and full skirt, covered in glittering embroidery fit for a Frozen princess.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Sheer black sparkly dresses worn with lace-up black and silver midi boots, space-inspired face gems, diamante chokers with trialing detail at the front, and Matrix-esque cat-eye sunglasses.
