INSPIRED BY: The fusion of streetwear aesthetic with classic, tailored menswear looks, designer Justin Cassin aims to create mix-and-match separates capable of taking brand devotees from the boardroom to the great outdoors of the weekend.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Matt Damon as the young and idealistic Tom Ripley lusting over the la dolce vita of errant playboy Dickie Greenleaf and his expatriate girlfriend, Marge Sherwood, amid the blue waters and idyllic landscape of sun-drenched Italy in the late 1950’s in The Talented Mr. Ripley.
WEAR IT TO: A grown-up version of your gap-year euro trip via a seven-night nautical cruise island hopping aboard a luxury yacht through the Adriatic coast in Dalmatia, the Côte d’Azur, and the Cyclades.
FIRST READ: European-style dressing with an Italian flair – think Ricky Martin-inspired body-con tees worn under moto jackets and styled with plaid golf pants, rolled up at the ankle and teamed with desert boots, shirts worn open to the navel, oversized blazers and ribbed sweaters paired with white pants.
BEST LOOK: A lemon shirt teamed with taupe chinos and black leather boots, styled with a rust cashmere scarf and a single drop earring.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Social media guru Josh Heuston opened the show, and walked the final lineup in a pair of ivory Italian-style men’s board shorts, boat shoes worn with pants rolled up at the ankle, grandpa-style ribbed cardigans worn over fitted t-shirts.
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “Why aren’t there more bare-chested male models at fashion week? I could get very used to this!”
