Colovos F/W 2018 – Review

INSPIRED BY: The idea of leaving a positive, lasting impact, the show provided a fresh take on New York City staples – think pared-back 90’s minimalism with a subtle Japanese influence.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Sandy Olsson post-makeover in a 2018 remake of Grease. Think Hilary Rhoda sipping a Matcha tea behind the wheel of a vintage convertible on the streets of Beverly Hills in between takes on a photoshoot for Estee Lauder.
WEAR IT TO: Your conversational French class in Paris, before dashing to your afternoon nannying gig, where you push the pram housing your a crying two-year old down to the Seine to save your sanity.
FIRST READ: Modern updates on the relaxed-fit blazer, deconstructed white shirts and fitted shift dresses gave the collection a polished, ladylike vibe, while strappy cocktail looks with lace detailing and leather shirts made for fitting wardrobe additions for your next Euro vacation.
BEST LOOK: A strappy black dress featuring lace cutouts, styled with black midi socks and white brogues.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Fabric belts with hoop metal hardware detail, flyaway ties, zipper detailing and multifunctional separates added to the wearability of the collection from former Helmut Lang design husband-and-wife team Michael and Nicole Colovos.
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “I can imagine Angelina Jolie at a UNICEF meeting in every look.”
COLOR WHEEL: Rust, powder blue, white, red, khaki, camel, black, cerulean.
