Delpozo Resort 2019 – Review
INSPIRED BY: An array of international artists, namely the wispy, ethereal florals of Bryan Whitney, the travel sketches of London-based illustrator Charlotte Ager, and cacti oil renderings of Korean painter, Lee Kwang-ho.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Frozen’s costume designer Jean Gillmore taking a break from perfecting the snowflake and ice-crystal accents of Snow Queen Elsa’s gowns to flex her chops on a runway collection ahead of New York Fashion Week.
WEAR IT TO: Your cousin’s wedding rehearsal party under the Northern Lights on a floating stage over Iceland’s geothermal blue lagoon, before stripping off and plunging in the toasty 37-degree Celsius healing waters with the groom’s best man.
FIRST READ: A popping neon lineup of sheer sweaters with floral applique, the brand’s signature pinafore dresses, oversized smock dresses with pussycat bows at the neckline, and Parisian-style powder blue boating striped separates combined to create a ladylike offering with a classic Delpozo spunky edge.
BEST LOOK: A white blouse featuring an explosive neon yellow tulle broach, teamed with a striped tiered A-line skirt in yellow, peach and purple, styled with a blue and aqua bucket bag.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Pointed flats in pastel hues, floral and ruffle applique attached as broaches and waist detailing, bucket bags and corporate clutches and tulle paneling on strapless gowns and blouses.
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “Delpozo’s creations always make me think of a delinquent princess living the good life in Narnia.”
COLOR WHEEL: Silver, white, pastel blue, navy, peach, red, aqua, green, neon yellow, cream, tangerine.
