A Detacher F/W 2018 – Review

INSPIRED BY: Designer Mona Kowalska’s signature focus on athletic looks with a feminine edge, with a focus on the glittery impact of sequins. Think Audrey Hepburn on vacation at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Former Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief Joanna Coles burning the midnight oil on deadline ahead of closing the September edition. Think grandma chic-meets-Meatpacking cool.
WEAR IT TO: Rub shoulders with Leo DiCaprio aboard a superyacht at the Cannes Film Festival on the French Riviera.
FIRST READ: Grandma-chic with a 70’s twist, featuring shaggy knits, dusty florals and sporty anoraks. The brand’s devotees were sure to be pleased by the suite of comfy corporate looks, given a street-style edge via relaxed tailoring and oversize silhouettes.
BEST LOOK: An oversized shift dress in an earthy print, styled with khaki boots and olive sunglasses.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Boogie Nights-inspired sequinned swimwear, teamed with open-toe booties, with apricot eyeshadow featured throughout.
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “I’m loving the Mad Men feel to the collection. Those shades are a must.”
COLOR WHEEL: Pink, blue, taupe, brown, beige, orange, khaki, cream, apricot.
