INSPIRED BY: The Uruguayan designer’s focus on sustainability, fueled by her recent efforts in support of conquering climate change.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Shailene Woodley accepting the Female EMA Futures Award from the Environmental Media Association for her involvement in social and environmental issues, including the protests over the Dakota Access Pipeline.
WEAR IT TO: Take part in a panel discussion on the future of eco-fashion and ethical manufacturing at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
FIRST READ: Hearst delivered a series of strong, statement looks paired with separates that added a dose of femininity to the mix. Then there were a string of evening getups, including a silk midi dress with a soft geometric print, color-blocked rib-knit dresses, and winter coats worn over scoop-neck wool gowns with ladder-stitch detail.
BEST LOOK: A navy check blazer, worn over an pleated button-up dress in powder blue, styled over menswear trousers and a crossbody clutch.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Stacked platform brogues, leather slip-on boots, and accordion bags with rose-gold detail highlighted the designer’s strength in accessories, while fringed knits and padded sleeveless trench coats added a sense of softness to the mix.
