INSPIRED BY: The fearless femme fatale with an ax to grind – think razor-sharp tailoring with a utilitarian vibe – designer Alana Pallister focused on the idea of femininity through the creation of a minimalist, bold, sexy and controversial lineup.
POP-CULTURE NOD: The Instagram feed of brand devotees Bella Hadid, Kaia Gerber, Emily Ratajkowski, Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, or SZA. Imagine the sort of love child a collaboration between Balenciaga, Telfar, V Files and Yeezy might spawn and you’ll get a sense of the brand’s edgy, streetstyle appeal.
WEAR IT TO: An afternoon of California Dreaming on Auto Club Day with your posse while drinking Bud Lights as you watch driver Joey Logano dominate from start to finish as he leads 139 laps en route to victory in Nascar’s Xfinity Series Rosanne 300.
FIRST READ: From a khaki Ghostbusters-inspired mechanics jumpsuit to a white fur coat, styled over a skimpy bodysuit, to a military coat covered with zipper detailing, Pallister served up a collection of the brand’s signature spunky aesthetic with a sporty, athletic edge.
BEST LOOK: A deconstructed black puffer jacket with removable sleeves, paired with matching hot pants and styled with over-the-knee black suede boots. Another standout was a sheer nude mini dress for the more provocative customer, featuring the brand’s logo on the side, worn over a black G-string and black slides.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Electro beats and a glowing neon sign sprouting the brand’s name provided a social-media-friendly backdrop for the flurry of shots snapped by the front row, denim cropped tops, lingerie-inspired tops and panties, a corduroy one-shouldered jumpsuit with cheeky cutouts, gradient wraparound shades and a smoke-filled runway, playing to the show’s nightclub feel.
