Greta Constantine S/S 2018 – Review
INSPIRED BY: Glitz, glamour and an ode to sequins and popping hues, designers Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong created a dazzling lineup of Studio 54-influenced looks just as suited to a spot on the red carpet as the most in-demand podium at Up & Down.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Poppy Delevingne clinking champagne glasses with DJ Chelsea Leyand upstairs at The New York EDITION to toast the latter’s NYFW 30th birthday party.
WEAR IT TO: Flash your gold membership card as you pose for the paparazzi beside Paris Hilton and Mary-Kate Olsen at the premier toasting the relaunch of former Chelsea hot spot, Bungalow 8.
FIRST READ: From a bright orange silk tulle Faustino dress with chain-strap detail, to a cropped satin bomber jacket worn over a blue sequined dress with a gathered tulle hem, to a silver racerback tank paired with loose-fit tuxedo pants – Pickersgill and Wong nailed the disco-inspired lineup, which played out like an ode to the 90’s club kid let loose in the sample closet at Vogue.
BEST LOOK: A multi-colored sequined dress with polka-dot lace paneling, and a black glittery train attached to the hip.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: A black sequin bolero with silk wool trim detail, worn over a green silk tulle dress with tube-style straps and a black floaty crinoline.
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “I’ve never seen this presentation format before but I love it” [On half the models posing at opposite sides of the room before switching places via a 15-minute interval runway show.]
COLOR WHEEL: Lime, rose, sea blue, gold, silver, black, lilac, teal, gold, mango, purple, lilac, orange.
