Greta Constantine Resort 2019 – Review
INSPIRED BY: The conservative appeal of Meghan Markle in a fluted microfiber skirt by the brand on a jaunt to Ireland in March, Canadian design team Stephan Wong and Kirk Pickersgill chose to present a suite of color-blocked separates for their resort collection, while keeping true to the label’s Studio 54 disco vibe.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Emma Watson in a neon chartreuse Marchesa gown at the MTV Movie Awards afterparty in West Hollywood.
WEAR IT TO: The VIP backstage lounge to catch Jamiroquai drop Little L in his signature headdress at Coachella (weekend one).
FIRST READ: A more demure take on the brand’s penchant for blinging head-to-toe sequined showstoppers, Greta Constantine’s latest offering featured a swag of almost-corporate looks fit for the color-blind boardroom – think lime-green ruffled dresses, sparkly cap-sleeve tops teamed with neon yellow skirts and plastic-style bow belts, and wearable sleeveless maxis in jewel toned-hues.
BEST LOOK: A fitted pink blazer with sunburnt orange lining, cinched at the waist with an oversized bow belt and styled with paperbag sequined blue shorts, red stacked mules and natural makeup.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Oversized bow belts in silk and PVC-style plastic, sequined 80’s-esque shirts and shorts, gold gladiator tie waistbands and bold red heels.
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “Do you think we could pull these looks off next Summer Friday? It would save a quick change before happy hour.”
COLOR WHEEL: Tangerine, lime, magenta, navy, cobalt, grey, yellow, gold, red, black, purple.
