Hellessy NYFW F/W19 – Review

INSPIRED BY: Designer Sylvie Millstein whirlwind personal life going into 2019, which resulted in a loud and eclectic collection with a mashup of prints and materials sure to appeal to the brand’s devotees.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Rihanna as double agent Carmen Sandiego in her upcoming film noir femme fatale music video.
WEAR IT TO: Dress like a power player at your firm’s 2020 election-night party at Cipriani Wall Street.
FIRST READ: Millstein delivered a series of signature customizable separates capable of being worn multiple ways, in addition to a series of oversized menswear suiting, statement sequin cocktail gowns with asymmetrical hemlines, and a string of red, white, and blue star print looks on silk shirts and suspenders hanging over plaid cargo pants.
BEST LOOK: A cobalt double-breasted blazer with grosgrain ribbon accents, worn over a black Lurex top and paired with balloon pants and embellished ankle-strap flats.
