Jeremy Scott F/W 2018 – Review

INSPIRED BY: Atomic Blonde, the furry kitsch Popples of the 80’s, and the wardrobe of the homecoming class of a psychedelic prom on planet Mars. Neon accents, cartoon scribbles, deconstructed hoodies and rave-inspired separates rounded-out the playful collection, which featured plenty a glitzy embellished leather jacket and neon mesh skirt.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Nicki Minaj attending a 90’s-themed high-school reunion, hosted inside Disney’s Space Mountain.
WEAR IT TO: The Dirty Retro Shade Disco at Ibiza’s Baybar, followed by a short flight across the pond to attend an exclusive July 4 space-inspired rave at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral.
FIRST READ: Vests with neon fur patches, graphic tees, track jacket–bras and acid-wash jackets stayed true to Scott’s imaginative mash-up of 90’s throwbacks, with current pop-culture references adding a dose of kitsch to the mix. Standout additions included a range of thigh-high lace-up moon boots, Care Bear sweaters and deconstructed reflective workwear added an athletic ski bunny feel to the collection.
BEST LOOK: A sheer neon blue trench, worn with colorful patterned thigh-high boots and a glow stick necklace and hoop earrings. 
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: The show’s lineup of model starlets included Gigi and Bella Hadid, among others. Scott collabored with Wella Professionals Global Creative Director Eugene Souleiman to create a series of bob-cut wigs in electric yellow, tangerine, lilac, pink, green and turquoise, while makeup kept in check with the space-age Barbie aesthetic with bubblegum shades and pastel lips.
