Jeremy Scott S/S 2018 – Review

INSPIRED BY: Scott’s earlier creations on the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the brand. Neon accents, cartoon scribbles, sequins, hoodies and deconstructed separates rounded-out the playful collection, with Scott muse Devon Aoki opening the show in a glitzy silver leather jacket and neon mesh skirt.
POP-CULTURE NOD: The sort of looks Scott might select if plucked to dress the class of his next 90’s-themed high-school reunion, hosted inside Disney’s Space Mountain.
WEAR IT TO: The Dirty Retro Shade Disco at Ibiza’s Baybar, followed by morning minosa’s while you rest your legs and upload evidence of your messy all-nighter to Instagram.
FIRST READ: Oversized sweats, graphic tees, camo and acid-wash jackets stayed true to Scott’s imaginative mash-up of 90’s throwbacks, with current pop-culture references adding a dose of kitsch to the mix. Standout additions included a range of thigh-high lace-up boots, chunky boa constrictor metal necklaces, and deconstructed sweatshirts tacked to the back of an athletic-inspired shimmering evening gown.
BEST LOOK: Gigi Hadid closing the show in a dramatic sheer black mesh gown, strategically covered with crystal-covered panels and a built-in disco bra.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: The show’s lineup of model starlets included Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, Joan Smalls, Slick Woods, Sofia Ricci and Liberty Ross. Coco Rocha turned heads in a shimmery crystal bodysuit with matching trucker cap and a white corset. Three Swarovski crystals were glued under models’ eyes and nails were painted pastel pink and statement orange, with silver glitter dusted on the cuticles.
