INSPIRED BY: The floral and nature paintings of American artist, Georgia O’Keefe. The relaxed, summer vibe of L.A. – where designer Jonathan Simkhai is based – also shone through in the airy and feminine collection.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Olivia Culpo sipping martinis poolside at the Popsugar x Coachella CFDA brunch in Palm Springs.
WEAR IT TO: A summer wedding in Montauk, followed by an evening beachside by the fire pit with the addition of a cozy knit sweater.
FIRST READ: Simkhai’s decision to stage the show on the rooftop paid off in spades, thanks to the sunshine spotlighting his range of floaty gowns and ladylike suiting with lace detail. Kimono-style blazers, silk slips, lightweight trenches and cocktail maxi gowns rounded out to create a collection sure to appeal to the brand’s devotees. Think Grecian vixen-meets-English rose.
BEST LOOK: A tiered white floor-length dress featuring a plunging neckline and strategic cutouts, with trailing ribbon detail and worn with leather flats.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Lace and crochet added a richness to simple slips and figure-hugging dresses, while oversized hobo bags and statement flats with ankle straps added to the lineup’s daywear appeal.
