Longchamp NYFW S/S19 – Review
INSPIRED BY: Kate Moss and the Glastonbury culture – think bohemian rock chick with a does of cowboy and western thrown in for a dose of grit.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Moss in Hunter wellington boots sipping warm beer from a disposable cup while stomping in the mud at Worthy Farm in 2005.
WEAR IT TO: Boot scooting to Marshmallow at the Cowboys Music Festival in Calgary.
FIRST READ: Creative director Sophie Delafontaine marked the label’s first show in New York – and the house’s 70th anniversary – with an explosion of leather, suede and lace across jackets with fringing, tiered coats in leopard print, lace-up capes and festival-ready vests, and floor-grazing sheer dresses worn over a triangle bikini for those occasions when you’re required to keep dancing in the rain.
BEST LOOK: A sheer maxi dress featuring a white graphic print, worn over a seafoam green suede bikini and styled with cow-print boots, a western satchel with fringe detail and a statement drop feather earring.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Lace-up suede fringed gladiator sandals, worn throughout, cross-body satchels featuring the brand’s logo on the strap, Woodstock-ready feather drop earrings, and the infamous Le Pliage carryall given a rocker update via the addition of metal hardware and snakeskin.
