Milly S/S 2018 – Review
INSPIRED BY: Designer Michelle Smith’s reaction to the post-election outlook. Titled, ‘Fractured’, the collection focused on embracing femininity and a gave nod to wildflowers as a way to showcase women as strong and sexy.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Julianne Hough returning as a judge for Dancing With The Stars series 25.
WEAR IT TO:Â Margaritas with your beau in Spain for Pamplona’s festival Fiesta de San Fermin, the running of the bulls. Or dancing around the maypole during the Midsummer’s Eve celebration in Sweden.
FIRST READ: Cropped tops, ruffled skirts and concertina pleated silk pieces combined to create an airy and ethereal lineup, marching in tune with the brand’s reputation for delivering flirty looks with a youthful edge.
BEST LOOK:Â A forest green long-sleeve top with ruffle detail and frayed edges, teamed with a matching tango skirt and strappy heels.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: During the brand’s first non-runway preview since 2004, Smith featured pretty flowers and rainbow installations to highlight her laid-back, classy offering.
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “That orange number is perfect for the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in June.”
COLOR WHEEL:Â Tangerine, olive, peach, blue, slate, white, ivory.
