If Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft got lost in a Moroccan bazaar you would have the set of Nicholas K’s spring/summer 2015 offering, which was inspired by the designer’s research on female trailblazers that have explored the region.

Intended for the modern-day urban warrior stomping the streets of Soho, the brother and sister design duo Christopher and Nicholas Kunz delivered a range of jungle-themed khaki looks with a distinct camouflage theme.

Loosely wrapped relaxed silk tops and side-tie skirts were offset by harsher utility jackets and knee guards, making the collection equally suited for watching the next Tough Mudder event courtside or recreating the set of The English Patient on your next jaunt to Cairo.

The color palette morphed from army greens to crisp, airy white and then back to darker greens, grey and black, finishing with standout looks involving silk evening pieces in light sky blue.

A crowd favorite paired a ruched blue silk top with a flowing train with a matching head scarf and chic black leather mini skirt. Completing the look were sexy strappy lace-up heels, designed in collaboration with Korean mastermind Kiyoon Baek.

The designer put his friends to work this season, with jewelry designer Victoria Simes’ horsehair accessories adding an extra dose of authenticity to the nomadic warrior princess vibe.

Scrunched-up cargo pants avoided falling victim to a homage to the 90’s trend by being teamed with hipster shawls, inventive draping and hooded and leather jackets, which gave the show a rock-star edge.

One beneficiary of the show is likely to be Casio, which is sure to see a spike in sales after the brand’s G-Shock watches were worn funked-up with camouflage bands to complement the authentic aviator sunglasses.

While Angelina Jolie is unlikely to star in a sequel to Tomb Raider anytime soon, Nicholas K’s most recent offering will have Ms Stone and fashionistas everywhere prepared to tackle the urban jungle next spring.
