INSPIRED BY: The timeless elegance and decorum of Grace Kelly and designer Pamella Roland’s recent trip to Monaco’s Grand Prix, where every red carpet is a runway.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Cate Blanchettt graciously receiving an Oscar and not Tweeting about it because she respectfully left her iPhone at home.
WEAR IT TO: Your next Ocean’s Eleven-themed casino night with a tuxedo-clad gent on your arm.
FIRST READ: Roland delivered a solid suite of her signature party gowns, which featured an array of elegant accents, such as ombre sequins, floral embroidery and ostrich ruffles. Think Clueless’s Cher if she were ruling the corporate world in her 30’s and the after-work cocktail crowd beyond it.
BEST LOOK: A mauve, purple and pink sheer body-con dress with cutout sleeves and a built-in cape, covered in silver sequin embroidering, giving it an intergalactic feel.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: The combination of feathers plus frocks equals one large explosion of eye-catching bling on a dress already set to turn heads no matter the occasion. A standout out look included a strapless mullet dress cinched at the waist with layers of tulle exploding in both directions.
