CTC Review: PH5 – S/S 2018
INSPIRED BY: Artists Marc Quinn, Thomas Stimm and Dieter Huber, with an overt nod to artificial flowers.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Margherita Missoni on the eve of her gypsy-inspired wedding, where she’s set to marry racing driver Eugenio Amos at an estate in Brunello, deep in the heart of the Italian countryside.
WEAR IT TO: Flog organic Kelvin frozen margaritas from the back of your converted pop-up truck store to eager swimmers in line at McCarren Park Pool.
FIRST READ: A tie-back navy paired with a pair of rainbow striped pants, sweaters and skirts with curved hems and a midi skirt featuring a geometric print rounded out the colorful collection, which marked designers Wei Lin and Mijia Zhang’s debut into sheer wool, namely via a screen-printed navy-and-white horizontal patterned flared skirt.
BEST LOOK: A cap-sleeved mini dress, featuring a wiggly hemline and white piping detail.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: The brand’s knitted white boots and the life-sized flowers and vegetation peppered throughout the presentation space, which paid homage to the show’s official theme.
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “Do you think they’ll notice if I grab one of the roses on the way out for my apartment?”
COLOR WHEEL: Navy, powder blue, red, yellow, white, black, green, cream.
