INSPIRED BY: Memories of designer Chris Leba’s childhood spent at his mother’s beachfront hotel in Montauk. Think the sort of look sported by a surfer returning to the city after three days camping by the ocean.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Vanessa Hudgens in a pair of western boots dancing in a dust storm at Coachella, with a dose of laidback surfer attitude thrown in for streetwear cred. Think Justin Beiber’s new summer look – a confused aspiring Beach Boy mixed with Matthew McConaughey’s character in Dazed & Confused.
WEAR IT TO: Your dual-track job interview for nightclub promoter in Miami while simultaneously being tasked with offloading tickets to this year’s Burning Man.
FIRST READ: Ripped denim cutoffs paired with bold blazers and rainbow tie-dye vintage tees. The collection carried a distinct grungy, rocker vibe, while vintage logos and prints added to the 70’s Woodstock aesthetic. Fringed leather jackets and corduroy jackets felt just as at home as smoking robes in a nautical print, while hibiscus motifs on board shorts and tops added a beachy feel to the lineup.
