Rebecca Taylor NYFW F/W19 – Review

INSPIRED BY: Designer Rebecca Taylor’s relocation to Paris in 2018, namely her time spent exploring the city’s plethora of museums and cultural attractions.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Penélope Cruz sipping tea while on break at a photo shoot for French Vogue inside the five-star Hotel Lutetia in the heart of Saint Germain.
WEAR IT TO: Browse the dazzling collections of artwork by French Impressionists and Neo-Impressionists on display on the third floor of The State Hermitage museum in Saint Petersburg in Russia.
FIRST READ: Taylor stayed true to her penchant for balancing romantic tailoring with an urban edge through a series of street-style-friendly jumpsuits with knot detail – worn under matching blazers – padded coats with quilting detail, and frilly party frocks in playful prints. Also key were maroon leather pants paired with a ruffled v-neck top, capable of taking you from the boardroom to happy hour by adding a pair of heels and a statement necklace.
BEST LOOK: A floral maxi dress featuring a pussycat-bow neckline, styled with snakeskin-effect boots.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Clashing prints on coats and relaxed-fit separates, summer dresses given a fall update through colorful tights and after-dark mules, and abstract floral embroidery on midi cocktail gowns.
COLOR WHEEL: Crimson, dusty pink, gray, rust, navy, blue, black, white, brown, peach.
