TOP INSTA LOOK: Beach-ready straw wide-brimmed hats in sand, with a slightly more oversized version in black providing a dressier option for cocktail hour poolside.

BEHIND THE SCENES: Keeping in check with the show’s ode to astrology, botany and animals, the designer recreated a leafy tropical garden inside Angel Orensanz Center, a former synagogue venue, on the Lower East Side, complete with mossy undergrowth, palm fronds and hanging ferns as part of a wonderland that was part rainforest pond and part desert.

OFF PROBATION: A shimmery green lurex button-down jacket with black lace detailing, teamed with emerald satin shorts with star and bird print embroidery and a pink hem, styled with a black fedora, a beetle pendant choker and black ankle books.

GOOD BEHAVIOR BOND: A garden party-friendly sleeveless sheer ruffle dress in black organza with white spots, cinched at the waist with a black belt, styled with black leather slides, a fedora and stacked tribal-inspired chunky silver bracelets.

INSPIRED BY: “The World According to Heavenly Creatures”, or Dutch astrologer, cartographer and clergyman Petrus Plancius and his works around the celestial pole on European maps of the southern sky. Mimicking Plancius’ use of the animals and subjects described in natural history books and travelers’ journals of his day to inspire his celestial mappings, Scotch & Soda creative director Marlou van Engelen cited nature as the key influence behind his latest collection. Playing out over three courses, firstly, an ode to the bird of paradise, then the Holy Commission, and finally “the toxic fly.”

POP CULTURE-NOD: Jessica Alba bucking the midriff top trend hitting Coachella in Indio, California, for the second weekend of the event with husband Cash Warren, catching a private set from rockers Blur before retiring to her luxury yurt for pinot noir and s’mores amid with her celeb besties.

WEAR IT TO: Cap off one of the longest days of the year at Brooklyn’s coolest sunset soiree to benefit the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary mid-June to show your support of over 200 rescued animals to raise funds for the charity on the rooftop of Aurora Lampworks in Williamsburg, where you sip moonshine against the backdrop of the glittering night sky (or for the resident hipster, think biodynamic wine courtesy of The Vegan Vine and Neumarkter Lammsbraeu’s organic beer).

OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “This was worth the inconvenient Uber commute but I’m still yet to see a single customer in their new Williamsburg store.”

COLOR WHEEL: Khaki, mustard, beige, black, camel, peach, apricot, green, emerald, purple, mauve, cream, taupe, navy, blue, orange, yellow.

THE DOCKET: Flora-inspired prints and feminine lace and silk getups felt right at home against rugged leather and metalware accessories in the rainforest-inspired earthy collection, which straddled the line between Western cowboy and wanderlusting gypsy wandering the luscious leafy mountainous region of Honshu in Japan.
