Self-Portrait NYFW F/W19 – Review

INSPIRED BY: Designer Han Chong’s decision to evolve the brand beyond its signature feminine lace A-line dresses into the sort of street-style looks you’d spot in the VIP section over weekend one of Coachella.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Zendaya chatting about her new HBO series with a pal at the Vanity Fair and Lancôme Toast Women in Hollywood event in WeHo.
WEAR IT TO: Checkout the fashion, beauty and wellness products at the latest pop-up of traveling store Modatrova at Ludlow House, before grabbing a boozy brunch at hipster hangout Freemans.
FIRST READ: Chong delivered a suite of flirty party frocks in the form of tailored minis in clashing prints with lace trim detail, checkered frilly midis in checkered prints, and off-the-shoulder cocktail numbers with poufy sleeves and ruched bodices. Edgier looks came in the form classic suiting and short shorts, while fans of the brand’s more traditional offering would be pleased a cobalt pleated dress with lace cutouts and princess-style sleeves.
BEST LOOK: A yellow off-the-shoulder mod-inspired mini dress, featuring a built-in Lurex striped skivvy with arm-warmer holes, paired with knee-high sheer black tights and lace-up booties.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Girly crossbody bags, geometric-inspired sunglasses, and a tuxedo wrap dress with a pleated silk panel at the front.
