Sies Marjan NYFW S/S19 – Review
INSPIRED BY: A reflection on her youth and progression at the brand, designer Sandy Lak chose to experiment with color in a show which featured her mother and other family and friends in the diverse show.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Diane Kruger on a low-key trip to Upstate New York with beau Norman Reedus to scout for possible wedding locations with a requisite hipster barn.
WEAR IT TO: The opening night of Art Basel in Miami at the SLS South Beach, before heading to The Basement at the Edition Hotel for a round of ten-pin bowling to hip hop beats.
FIRST READ: Relaxed-fit menswear suiting, crumpled silk dresses, utilitarian trenches worn with cargo pants, and nautical stripes on slouchy knits and fitted dresses rounded out the expansive collection, which had a distinct edgy, futuristic vibe.
BEST LOOK: A red long-sleeve crop top, teamed with a multi-medium plastic and silk midi skirt and strappy buckle heels.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS:
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “Cindy Crawford must be the proudest mom in the world right now [of Presley Walker and Kaia walking in the show].”
COLOR WHEEL: Red, lemon, lilac, purple, maroon, magenta, blue, white, black, slate, camel, chartreuse, navy, mustard.
