Son Jung Wan S/S 2018 – Review
INSPIRED BY: The French Riviera and the aristocrats, artists, and the 1960’s jet-set gallivanting about its many glamorous beach resorts.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Anne Hathaway filming a scene in the Sugar Factory in Meatpacking on the set of the upcoming Barbie movie.
WEAR IT TO: A stroll through Nakajima Park in Hokkaido next April to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom, before heading to the nearest bar to grab a festival-themed cocktail in a similar saccharine fuchsia hue.
FIRST READ: Floral one-shouldered silk gowns, a bronze dress with navy tulle detail, and a strappy turquoise silk top paired with a matching flouncy skirt echoed the collection’s garden-party vibe, while a candy striper-inspired pink-and-white patterned romper with bow detail and matching jacket added a flirty feminine edge to the mix.
BEST LOOK: A cream embellished silk top and matching mini shorts, worn under a denim jacket with floral embellished detailing.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: A sheer white hooded silk jacket with intricate flower and bead embellishment, worn over a cream and ivory patterned dress. Also key was a rose-gold silk jumpsuit with a cowl-neck, paired with a light-pink silk organza jacket.
SPOTTED IN THE FROW: Iris Mittenaere, Sophia Dominguez, Kara McCullough, Symon, Eric West.
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE: “This show always makes me want to revisit all of the color in my wardrobe before summer’s officially over.”
