INSPIRED BY: Baroque composers Henry Purcell and George Frideric Handel, the imagery of the opera, and the palaces of George II and King William III evoked by their music. Think East meets West meets the boardroom.
POP-CULTURE NOD: The Good Wife’s Alicia Florrick approaching the bench in court while defending venture capitalist Colin Sweeney against the claim he murdered his wife.
WEAR IT TO: Accompany your fantastical hat as part of your Queen of Hearts costume at the MoMa’s Alice in Wonderland Halloween party.
FIRST READ: Deconstructed suiting and a fresh take on the hourglass silhouette via oversized girdle-style pleated belts gave way to 90’-inspired relaxed blazers and pants, oversized shirt dresses and body-con frocks.
BEST LOOK: A plunging white deep-V blazer dress with deconstructed sleeves, cinched at the waist with a pleated belt and paired with nude heels.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Temporary hummingbird tattoos on the models’ chests played up the show’s ethereal vibe, while pleated corsets worn throughout played to the show’s utilitarian feel.
