Tome S/S 2018 – Review
INSPIRED BY: Dancer and choreographer Pam Tanowitz and the idea of a deconstructed rainbow. Think color-blocked separates and accordion-pleated skirts.
POP-CULTURE NOD:Â Sarah Jessica Parker walking her twins to art class in the West Village before meeting husband Matthew Broderick for a spot of salsa at a Spanish speakeasy downtown.
WEAR IT TO: Your audition for the fall remake of Tim Rice’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
FIRST READ:Â Pleated maxi dresses and balloon-sleeved tops were presented in a kaleidoscope of bold bright colors, giving the show a tropical fiesta vibe, while ribbed knits and tie-front shirting made for easy layering.
BEST LOOK:Â A one-shoulder, long-sleeve midi dress with a ruffled neckline in a striped carnival print, tied at the waist with a knot for a relaxed, undone vibe.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Sorbet colors and head-to-toe monochromatic looks formed part of the sunny, mood-boosting collection – a fashion dose of Vitamin D.
SPOTTED IN THE FROW: Urban Bush Babies, TK Quinn, Cipriana Quinn, Samantha Angela,
OVERHEARD COURTSIDE:Â “The dancers are incredible – what a great idea to have them wear the collection in addition to the models.”
COLOR WHEEL:Â Yellow, tangerine, red, blue, aqua, white, navy, grey, powder pink, orange.
BEATS: A live band curated the show’s soundtrack off to the side of the presentation.
