Tory Burch S/S 2018 – Review

INSPIRED BY: Staged in the garden of Cooper Hewitt on the Upper East Side, designer Burch cited British interior designer David Hicks as the muse behind her latest collection, namely his penchant for using bold colors and patterns in his mix of vintage and modern furnishings.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Kate Hudson on a nine-day hiking and aura-cleansing retreat at The Pearl Laguna Yoga Resort in California – because Fabletics just won’t cut it when you’re unblocking your spiritual animal.
WEAR IT TO: The Y2 yoga retreat at wellness hotspot Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita, along Cancun’s famed Riviera Maya. Or a two-hour mega detox class at the much-cheaper hipster Y7 Studio in Williamsburg.
FIRST READ: Hick’s geometric patterns – namely, the Octagram, Hexagon, and Hicksonian prints – made their way onto athleisure looks with a yoga-inspired relaxed vibe. One-shoulder dresses, strapless beach frocks and throw-over caftans made the collection suited to the poolside
BEST LOOK: A strappy cream dress with neon orange lace detailing and green pockets, worn with flat signature branded sandals and a fold-over oversized clutch.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: Casual beach bags, bright rolled-up towels, yoga mats and leather shoulder bags accompanied the Santa Monica Boardwalk-ready lineup, while a range of pendant necklaces in silver and gold added a dressy vibe should your day spill into happy hour around the bonfire.
