Yajun NYFW F/W19 – Review

INSPIRED BY: Designer Yajun Melody Lin’s sharpened focus on layering and plays on proportion. She also embarked on expanding her color palette beyond her signature black chromatic looks into an earthy hues in multiple mediums.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Hailey Bieber and husband Justin taking a break from Hollywood via a two-week getaway to Kicking Horse Resort in Golden, British Columbia.
WEAR IT TO: Meet with Nan Li and Emilia Pfohl from Berlin-based progressive fashion label Namilia about a potential collaboration on the costume wardrobe for the upcoming remake of Blade Runner.
FIRST READ: Padded pants and jackets played to the sleepwear vibe of the collection, while cozy coats with detachable pieces and silk poncho dresses capable of being worn multiple ways added an edgy vibe to the hipster-friendly lineup. Think the sort of looks you’d see on the streets of the Lower East Side on a Saturday afternoon come fall.
BEST LOOK: A one-shoulder organza jumpsuit, cinched at the waist with an athletic drawstring toggle and covered in the brand’s logo.
