Zadig & Voltaire S/S 2018 – Review

INSPIRED BY: Titled, ‘Let Love Rule‘ – the debut studio album of American rock musician Lenny Kravitz – the show played out like an ode to the 90’s punk movement in London’s former Camden Market.
POP-CULTURE NOD: Karlie Kloss with ex-boyfriend Joshua Kushner as the pair stroll through the Indo, California, fields as the sun goes down while listening to The Strokes at the Stagecoach Music Festival.
WEAR IT TO: The 7AM dance party Daybreaker for a pre-work music hit, designed for those former rock-and-rolll stalwarts with sensitive ears.
FIRST READ: Camo-print pants, oversized colorful striped knits, and pastel silk slips with lace detailing channeled the brand’s grungy rocker attitude, while glittery shirtdresses, sequinned aprons with mermaid-like scales, and frilly handkerchief dresses provided a feminine, flirty contrast to the mix.
BEST LOOK: A baggy white singlet worn under a gunmetal green strappy deconstructed apron, teamed with camo jogger pants and styled with a choker, taupe evening clutch and forest-green heels.
EYE-CATCHING ACCENTS: The brand’s signature glitter sneakers in forest green and silver showcased the collection’s edgy streetwear vibe, while the addition of strappy heels and evening clutches to other looks added a sophisticated downtown feel.
